Meeting our friends….

At some point, before things get too serious, you have to meet the friends. We started by having dinner with Casey’s best friends, Susan and David. Dinner was at a small Italian restaurant; a place that it is easy to talk and get to know someone. The evening went well, with Julie earning the “I adore her” phrase from Susan. In fact, Susan and Julie got along a little too well and bonded over true crime podcasts and teasing Casey about showing up to the first date earlier than expected.

A few days later, we were able to meet up with Julie’s friends Nicole, Sarah and her husband Seth. Casey quickly learned that teachers generally only talk “shop” when they get together and the men have to fend for themselves during those times. Beforehand, we planned to pull a prank and tell them we had gotten married. Nicole and Sarah’s faces were epically priceless, but Julie’s lack of a poker face quickly ruined any hope we had of continuing the joke. We enjoyed the laughs at their expense, and even survived the politics talk later in the evening.
